Percy & Small

Percy & Small was started in 1894 by Samuel R. Percy Jr. and Frank A. Small, and closed in 1920. The yard was on Washington Street, near Marshall Street: the Maine Maritime Museum is there now and has preserved much of the old yard, including a stylized mock-up of the framing of the 6-master Wyoming.

The museum notes that “The P&S Shipyard is the only intact shipyard site in the United States that built large wooden sailing vessels.”
