A Handsome Heiress Runs Away With the Married Driver of a Stage

[Special Telegram to the Dispatch]

Le Raysville, January 19. — Herbert Gilman has for many years driven the stage that connects this village with Owego, N. Y. He lived in Owego, where he has a wife and children. Miss May Sibley is the daughter of Samuel Sibley, a rich and prominent farmer, whose splendid estate is along the road between this village and Owego. She had for some time been going to Owego to take music lessons and always rode to and fro in Gilman’s stage. She is a handsome girl of about 20.

On Wednesday Miss May went to Owego as usual but did not return. Gilman did not appear at his home that evening as usual. Yesterday morning it was learned that he and Miss Sibley had taken a westbound train on the Delaware and Lackawanna Railroad. Nothing has been heard of the runaway couple since.
