Bangor, March 12—A stretch of ice less than a quarter of a mile in length which for the past few days has been tightly wedged opposite the wharves of the Eastern Steamship Company here, went out to sea today on the ebb tide, opening the river to navigation. This date equals the record for early opening of the river. The Brewer-Bangor ferryboat was launched today and ferry service was resumed, the earliest date on record. It is expected that the steamer Camden will make its first trip here from Boston Saturday
