Police Locate Young Blonde in Green Case

Ruby Ochs, vivacious blonde who, the police claim, won the affections of Clarence F. Green, youthful aviator, salesman, alleged swindler and fugitive from justice, has been located in Toledo, O., and will be questioned by the police, the district attorney announced Wednesday.

In the meantime, the wife of the much-sought man left her home on Martha Washington court, Washington Highlands, Tuesday night, for the first time, and during a visit to the district attorney’s office announced that she was “through” with the husband who had retained her affections and support through a previous escapade in which he forged $20,000 worth of mortgages at Madison, four years ago. It was mainly due to her efforts that Green was released after serving but one year of the three-year sentence for that offense.

Was His Companion.

The Ochs woman, who is said to have met Green while he was flying at county fairs in northern Wisconsin last summer, is said to have taken several airplane trips with him and to have been his companion on numerous roadhouse and cabaret parties. Among Green’s papers were found several canceled checks which had been made payable to the woman, one of them being for $100 and having been indorsed and cashed in Toledo.

Police believe that she can furnish them with information which might shed some light on the whereabouts of Green and the Toledo police have been requested to hold her pending a thorough questioning.

To Question Mother.

Following Mrs. Green’s visit to the office of the prosecutor, officials expressed themselves as being satisfied that she knew nothing of her husband’s flier in high and frenzied finance. Whatever the man did with the huge sum he is said to have realized on the alleged forgery of nearly $200,000 worth of sales contracts, he did not spend any of it on his home or family, officials say.

The mother of the missing man has been summoned to the district attorney’s office for questioning and is expected to call there late Wednesday.
