October 16, 1861 – Old Fashioned Raising at the County Farm

We are requested to extend a cordial invitation to all the able bodied men of the County to be present at the raising of a large barn at the County Farm, Goffstown, next Saturday, the 19th inst. unless it proves to be a stormy day. The work will commence early in the morning with the expectation of getting through in season to have some short wide awake Union speeches, from Hon. G. W. Morrison, Hon, Daniel Clark, Hon.W. C. Clarke, Hon. Walter Harriman, and other able and true men of the county, who are expected to be present, not only as talking, but as working men. It is hoped that as soon as 3 o’clock P. M. a large number of the citizens men, women and children will be present and that the occasion will be one long to be remembered with satisfaction.
