The steamship Black Swan is in nearly the same position on the bank as she was when operations were suspended for the day on Friday. On Saturday afternoon one of the beams forward yielded to the strain, and the fore part of the steamer went down a few feet. This will not interfere to any great extent, however, with the arrangements for pumping her out, which work will be gone about forthwith. On Saturday and yesterday she was quite an object of attraction to numbers of visitors, many of whom ventured on board, but abbreviated their stay by reason of the powerful odour emitted from the hatchways.
