September 11, 1861 – To The Ladies

The material for the uniform of the “Lancaster Hornets” will be at this place and ready for making up by the latter part of next week. From the disposition which the ladies are continually manifesting to work for the Volunteers, it is confidently believed that it is only necessary to announce that their help is needed, to obtain it. All who are willing to assist in making up uniforms are requested to report to Mr. A. Mayer, who will have the material. It is desirable that the work be done as speedily as possible, as it has been announced that Col. Dunovant’s Regiment, to which this company is attached, will in a short time be ordered on active service.
