September 7, 1861 – Stirring Times Ahead

From the movements about Washington City, in our army, as also from what appears to be taken place among the Rebels across the Potomac, we incline to the opinion that not many days will elapse until an important battle takes place. Gen. McClellan is moving cautiously but surely, and we incline to the opinion that when he does strike it will tell with good effect upon the country. It will not be a second edition of the Bull Run affair, as some have posed; but on the contrary, we believe it will be a glorious triumph for the Federal arms.
