July 21, 1861 – Gens. Patterson, Banks and Dix

It Is reported that Gen. Patterson has been superseded by Gen. Banks, and that Gen. Dix takes command of Fort McHenry in place of Gen. Banks.

It is also reported that the armies near Manassas are not more than two miles apart, and that the picket are continually firing upon each other.
