New York. June 53—An animal with a body shaped like that of a dachshund, but with webbed feet, with a head like an anteater and with long hair, which sings some what like a bird was brought from South America by William Schurz, commercial attache of the American embassy at Buenos Aires who arrived here today. The animal is said to be the first of its species to be brought to this country. Schurz discovered it while surveying the rubber plantations of the Amazon valley. He said he would present it to the zoological gardens in Washington, D. C.
