Many Houses at Laredo are Surrounded by Water
Laredo Texas June 15—The Rio Grande river at this place is on a big rise. At 8 o’clock it was up twenty feet and still rising. Many houses along the rivers edge are surrounded by water. There is some fear of the foot bridge connecting this city with Nuevo Laredo being damaged if the water rises much more. A force of men will be kept at work all of tonight preventing the driftwood from accumulating around the piers thus protecting it as much as possible.
