The King of Bonny was at latest accounts at Liverpool. His name is Peppel, and his kingdom of Bonny is an extensive district on the coast of Western Africa. His Majesty, though exceedingly dark, is a tall, good-looking man, about 50 years of age.—He is said to be highly intelligent, and speaks English with tolerable fluency. The King’s nephew, a youth about twenty years of age, is travelling with him, and they are accompanied by a Mr. Thwaites. His Majesty is unattended by any servants.
