Smith the Cuttist

At 1 o’clock last night, while some ladles and gentlemen were sitting in the front room of the house №61 Hospital street, a man named C. W. Smith broke in the door, and running frantically into the room, drew a dirk-knife and advancing on John Fernandez, plunged it into his left arm, inflicting a severe though not dangerous wound. The accused was immediately arrested and locked up in the Third Station. It appears that the two men have had a misunderstanding for some time, and last evening Smith, hearing that Fernandez was in the room, thought it was a good time to settle the affair, regardless of the fact that there was a number of ladies present.
