Much credit is due to President Lord, of the Indianapolis and Cincinnati Railway, for his judicious arrangements for the accommodation of the President elect, and his suite, and his considerate politeness to those who were invited to accompany Mr. Lincoln from the Indiana Capital to this city. We have heard his conduct spoken of in most favorable terms, and take this opportunity to signify our appreciation of his liberality toward ourselves.
The reception of Mr. Lincoln yesterday we creditable to our city, and an honor to the guest. No fuss of preparation has excited the people; but in the fine military escort, the creditable appearance of the uniformed and disciplined police, the promptness and good management of the procession, and especially in the vast turn-out, respectability, exceeding good order, and great enthusiasm of the people, it was something for both the city and the President elect to be proud of.
