A Note on the Pawnee’s Engines

Will  you be pleased to give the following correction in reference to the steamer Pawnee? — The next trial trip will not be made before the 15th or 20th inst. There never has been any complaint in reference to the working of the engines. They are deficient in power, but have never been out of line by any change in the vessel. The Pawnee being at least one-third larger than the other gun boats, costs more in the aggregate, but cost less per ton.
